We have a very busy two weeks before Thanksgiving Break! Here are some upcoming events that you will want to make sure that you add to your calendar!
THIS WEEK: Monday 11/5/18- Mommy and Me at the Manship Theater Parents will arrive on campus at 9:30 and we will depart by bus at 9:45, so please be sure to arrive ON TIME. We will eat a picnic lunch before the show starts at 11:30. The show will be over around 1:30 and we will take the bus back to school. If you plan to drive separately, your child will still have to ride the bus. If you would like to check your child out after the program, you must sign them out AT SCHOOL when we return. I will not assign homework on Monday, since half of the class will be attending the Mommy and Me Field Trip. Please review sight words and reading words in phrases. I am sending home phrases in a page protector in your child's homework folder for you to have your child practice reading each night. I will be attending the Mommy and Me Field Trip as a 'mommy", and will not be at school. Any questions or changes in transportation need to be made through the office. Tuesday 11/6/18-ELECTION DAY-NO SCHOOL Take your child with you to vote and discuss the importance of voting. Wednesday 11/7/18- TASTY WEDNESDAY Please send $2 in a SEALED ENVELOPE with your child's name on it if you have not pre-paid for Tasty Tuesdays. Any money that is turned in that is not in a SEALED ENVELOPE or ziplock bag with your child's name on it, and what the money is for will be sent back home. It is difficult to manage money coming in to school if it is not labeled and we have already had several students lose money or misplace it because it was not sent in a SEALED ENVELOPE with their name on it. Please put any coins in a sealed ziplock bag, as coins tend to fall out of envelopes. NEXT WEEK: ALL WEEK- BOOK FAIR in the Library Get a head start on your holiday shopping and stop by the library and get your loved ones some books! Tuesday 11/13-Veteran's Day Program and 1st Grade mini-production and RED, WHITE, and BLUE FREE DRESS for $2. Wear your most patriotic attire as we celebrate our veterans. If you or another family member is a veteran, please send Mrs. Hebert a picture of you or your family member to be added to the veteran's day program slide show, to honor our veterans. . Pictures must be emailed to Mrs. Hebert no later than Friday November 9th. Although Kindergarten will not be participating in the program as audience members, you are welcome to have your child attend the program with their veteran. All parents will require a Parent Security Number (PSN) when registering as a new user. You may click on the link below and type "PSN" in the comment section to request your parent security number (PSN).
For security reasons, the person accessing the student data must supply information that matches the data in the student database. Our students got hugs from our Manners of the Heart mascot, Wilbur, for our first Manners of the Heart event. They took pictures with Wilbur, enjoyed cookies, and danced to a song with him.
September’s Manners of the Heart will be the BREC on the GEAUX truck on September 27th. . If you would like to volunteer to help, please click on the link below for more information and to sign up!!: Last week, we had officers from the EBR Sheriff’s Department Visit our kindergartners to talk about their jobs, the tools that they use, and how to stay safe. The students enjoyed seeing all of the different tools that they need to use todo their job and had a lot of questions for the officers!
