It’s that time of year again! This year the theme of our Mardi Gras Parade is Early Literary Authors. Each Krewe is based off of a popular children’s book author. The authors we have chosen to be represented are: Robert Munsch, Ezra Jack Keats, David Shannon, Leo Lionni, Kevin Henkes, Eric Carle, and Dr. Suess. Children can choose any book written by their author of choice as the design for their float and costume. When signing up your child for a Krewe, please list the title of the book your child will represent next to their name. Our big buddies in 5thgrade will pull the floats your children decorate and bring in. Wagons make the parade easier, as walking the route can be difficult while carrying the bags of beads they will be throwing. No tricycles or bikes are allowed. There are a limited number of spots under each author in order for us to represent each author well in the parade. When the slots under an author are full, that krewe will be closed for further registration. Here is the link for the SignUp Genius to sign up for your krewe! https://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090944ada723a6f49-kindergarten2 All floats and costumes must be labeled with your child’s and teacher’s names. Floats may be dropped off the morning of the parade. Please send all costumes to school the day before the parade (Feb 28). Parents may begin arriving on parade day, March 1st, at 1:00 pm to help the children get dressed and ready to roll. If you are not able to help your child get ready, please email your child's teacher so we can make prior arrangements for your child. All floats must be ready to roll at 1:40 pm. We will have the Glasgow Middle School band coming to play for our parade! Thank you to Mr. McCoy for making this happen! We look forward to seeing all your creativity!!
